You will come to Mangareva for two reasons: its breathtaking lagoon that contains both high mountainous islands with lush vegetation and coral islands, or its cultural heritage coming from the Christianization of Polynesia.

The lagoon will give you a thousand shades of blue and green, viewed from a deserted white sand beach, or with a little height from the top of one of the 5 easily accessible mountainous islands. On these lands 1000 miles southeast of Tahiti you will be greeted by an entire community, not as a tourist, but actually as a guest. It will share its religious heritage of the 19th century. Then you will visit the St Michel Cathedral in Rikitea built in coral and completely renovated in 2011. Even if you're not practicing, participating in an office will be a unique experience.
