Moderately difficult "Canyoning" hike visiting lava channels that were formed during the volcanic period when the island was born. You will explore the rocks and vaults that Mother Nature herself has carved out. When you come out of the lava tubes, follow the river bubbling with waterfalls and have a swim in the cool water. Lunch and equipment included (headlight, gloves and coverall).

Highlights

Pick up from the lobby of your hotel or pension.
Comfortably set at the back of your 4x4, you will start a 45minutes drive toward the district of Hitiaa where the Lavatubes sit; Take advantage of this ride to take photos of the unique landscapes that offer this part of the island.
Before the hike starts, you will be informed about the journey's programme. Then, once equipped with your backpacks, you will start to make your way towards the first lavatubes. Numerous fun adventures await you on your way up. A lunch break will be planned along the way by the river. End up the tour with an outstanding view on the smaller island of Tahiti (Tahiti iti), before making your way back to the cars.
