Monoi Here (Monoï week)

Monoi Institute is sponsoring a week of meetings and exchanges between fans of this natural oil treatment, obtained by macerating the tiare flower with coconut. Each year since 2007, the event gives appointment to the House of Culture of Papeete.

Monoi Here is also lived through twenty villages of the island of Tahiti, showing the commitment of the remotest this precious wealth ancestral archipelagos.
The week of Monoi is organized around four themes:
- Culture and Education (films, documentaries and conferences);
- Creation (design and manufacturing);
- Use (traditional massage, traditional medicine, care and relaxation);
- Activities around the Monoi (workshops and exposure).
The oil mill Tahiti also offers an open house to show the public its business since the arrival of cophrah (dried coconut in the sun) to the oil, what is food or cosmetic.

Noteworthy, the circuit of Route Monoi aims to deploy a new tourist activity on the island of Tahiti. It traces the activities and connects Monoi Tiare fields, oil mills, soap factories and laboratories. This journey through the land that witnessed the birth monoï is embellished encounters with those who have witnessed the birth and initiation rituals of Polynesian beauty.
Monoi, very present in the daily life of the Polynesians, is shown in all its richness as a cosmetic product, but also as a cultural element.
